The Power of Self-Worth
So often we move through life searching for validation — looking for proof that we belong. But what if belonging has never been something to earn? Only something to remember?
Listen now
There's a quote from Brené Brown that Daniela returns to often: Stop walking through the world looking for confirmation that you don't belong. You will always find it. True belonging lives in the heart — not in other people's eyes.
The voice inside your head can be your best coach — or your worst bully. And the way we speak to ourselves often comes from what we heard growing up. Those words became internalized and turned into the voice we hear when we're under stress. But as adults, as conscious beings, we get to rebuild that voice.
In Kundalini Yoga, every time we sit on the mat and breathe, internally repeating Sat Nam — we are remembering our true identity. We are training ourselves to come back home. Every Sat Nam is like whispering to the soul: I am enough. I am whole. I am already complete.
3 Key Takeaways From This Episode
- 01 The inner voice was learned — and can be rebuilt. The way we speak to ourselves often comes from what we heard growing up. As adults, we get to consciously reshape that voice — to teach it to lift us up rather than tear us down.
- 02 Sat Nam is a daily recalibration. Every repetition of 'my true identity' in practice is training yourself to return to your inner wholeness — not as an affirmation, but as a remembering. The mat is where self-worth is rebuilt breath by breath.
- 03 Self-worth is cultivated, not found. It doesn't come from achievements or external validation. It comes from connection — from speaking to yourself the way you would speak to someone you love, consistently and with care.

On Self-Worth
There's a quote from Brené Brown that always touches me deeply. She says: "Stop walking through the world looking for confirmation that you don't belong. You will always find it. Stop walking through the world looking for evidence that you're not enough. True belonging and self-worth are not goods; we don't negotiate their value with the world. The truth about who we are lives in our hearts. Our call to courage is to protect our wild heart against constant evaluation, especially our own. No one belongs here more than you."
And isn't that true? So many of us spend years scanning people's faces to validate ourselves — looking for our worth outside of us. But that's something we're never going to find out there.
The truth is, the voice inside your head can be your best coach — or your worst bully. And the way we speak to ourselves often comes from what we once heard growing up. Those words became internalized — and turned into the voice we hear when we're under stress. But now, as adults, as conscious beings, we get to rebuild that voice. We get to teach it how to lift us up instead of tearing us down.
The Kundalini Connection
In Kundalini Yoga, when we sit on the mat, when we breathe and internally repeat Sat Nam — we are remembering our true identity. We are training ourselves to come back home. Every Sat Nam is like whispering to your soul: I am enough. I am whole. I am already complete.
Because true self-worth doesn't come from achievements or validation — it comes from connection. From remembering who we are beneath the noise of the mind. As the ancient yogic texts say, when we cease to identify with the fluctuations of the mind, we can finally see the Self — radiant, unshakable, whole.
In Daily Life
So, what does this mean in daily life? It means speaking to yourself the way you would to someone you love. It means catching that inner voice when it says, "You should have done more," and gently replying, "I'm learning. I'm growing. I'm enough right now."
It means celebrating small steps instead of waiting for perfection. It means remembering that you belong — not because of what you do, but because of who you are. When I speak to my daughter, I always remind her: We bring people up, not down, with our words and our actions. And this applies especially to ourselves.
Closing
My invitation for today is to pause for a moment. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and whisper to yourself — Sat Nam. Feel what it means to belong — fully, completely — to your own heart.
Because the quiet power of knowing your worth… is that you stop searching for it outside yourself. Kundalini Yoga gives us the tools to rewire our inner voice — to shift from self-criticism to self-compassion, from separation to belonging. This is the true purpose of what we practice — every mantra, every kriya, every breath is a reminder of your inner wholeness.
Because transformation begins when we stop fighting who we are… and start remembering it.
