Brow Point
Where the eyebrows meet at the root of the nose, the area of the Sixth Chakra.
Meaning
What Brow Point Means
The Brow Point is the point where the eyebrows meet, at the root of the nose. It's the area that corresponds to the Sixth Chakra, and one of the most common places to focus the eyes, or drishti, during meditation.
In Practice
How It’s Used
In many kriyas and meditations, the eyes close and gently rise toward the Brow Point. This gaze, sometimes called Shambavi Mudra, stimulates Sushumna, the central nervous channel, and the pituitary gland, supporting the development of intuition.
It's also used as a place to direct sound or breath in a mantra or meditation, and as the point of concentration when holding a breath at the end of a round.
