What Har Means

Har is a bij, or seed, mantra: the creative energy of Infinity. It's chanted continuously, pulling the navel point in with each repetition.

It appears both on its own and combined into longer phrases, such as Hari Hari Hari Hari Hari Hari Har or Har Har Har Har Gobindey, depending on the meditation.

How It’s Used

In one common technique, the sound Har is chanted at a steady pace while sitting with the spine elongated, hands at heart level, pulling in the navel point and lifting the chest with each repetition.

A specific pronunciation, using the tip of the tongue, is used for what the manual calls Tantric Har, recommended in meditations such as the Har Meditation for Prosperity, typically practiced for 3 to 11 minutes.
