Sat Nam

  • Sat is the concept of truth, that which prevails for all of eternity and is common to all people. Nam means name, and here conveys the idea of relationship: true identity, or I connect my inner truth.

How It’s Used

Sat Nam is the seed mantra that closes every Kundalini Yoga class, chanted three times while seated in meditation posture, bringing harmony and uniting the inner and outer worlds.

It is also the root of Sa Ta Na Ma, the mantra chanted to access universal truth: each of its four sounds, Sa, Ta, Na and Ma, invites a deeper look into the meaning of one's own life.
