Subtle Body
The ninth of the Ten Bodies: the capacity to see beyond the surface of life to what lies beneath it.
Meaning
What Subtle Body Means
The Subtle Body is the ninth of the Ten Bodies in Kundalini Yoga, associated with Guru Teg Bahadur and the themes of calmness, subtlety and mastery. It helps a person see beyond the immediate realities of life to the sublime, universal play that lies beyond.
When the Subtle Body is strong, a person has great finesse and a powerful calmness, learns quickly, and can walk into a room and intuitively sense what's happening. The Subtle Body is closely connected to the Soul Body, and is said to carry the soul at the time of death.
In Practice
How It’s Used
If the Ninth Body is weak, a person may be naive and easily fooled, unintentionally crude or rough in speech or behavior, or restless, lacking the peace that comes from flowing with the way things are.
The key to balancing the Subtle Body is to practice any meditation or kriya for 1,000 days in a row.
