Meaning

What Dharma Means

Dharma is the righteous path of duty: action aligned with one's Infinite Self. Where there is dharma, there is no karma, since dharma is the central organizing principle of the cosmos, the path of least resistance and fewest consequences.

Through yoga practice, Sadhana, the mind calms and sharpens, gaining a greater capacity to recognize truth and follow the inner promptings of the heart. That recognition, and the action that follows from it, is the path of Dharma.

How It’s Used

A strong Fifth Body, the Physical Body, gives a person the capacity to choose dharma over karma: to act from sacrifice and balance rather than from fear, greed or competition. Recognizing when an action comes from that alignment, rather than from personal history or expectation, is part of what Kundalini Yoga practice trains over time.
